On March 2, 2025 Legacy on Ice brought the figure skating community and thousands of supporters together. Legacy on Ice brought the figure skating community and thousands of supporters together at Washington, D.C.ās Capital One Arena to honor the 67 lives lost in the January 29 airline tragedy. The sold-out event drew visitors from across the nation, uniting fans, athletes, and the greater skating world in a powerful tribute to those lost.
The evening featured an extraordinary cast, including reigning national and world champions, past Olympic and U.S. champions, and those with the most personal connectionsāskaters who lost family members in the tragedy and friends paying tribute to those they loved. Through the artistry of figure skating and the power of music, each performance carried deep emotion, weaving together grief, remembrance, and resilience.
With proceeds benefiting the victimsā families, first responders, and U.S. Figure Skating, Legacy on Ice was more than a memorialāit was a testament to the strength of a sport and a community united in both heartbreak and hope. Though the tragedy will never be forgotten, the legacies of those lost will continue to inspire for generations to come.

Legacy on Ice was more than a day of remembrance ā it was a commitment to those affected by this tragedy. While honoring the 67 lives lost, the event also raised vital funds to support victimsā families, as well as the first responders and aviation professionals who worked tirelessly in the aftermath.
Proceeds from the event are benefiting victimsā families and first responders through the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundationās Legacy on Ice program, including the Greater Washington Community Foundation and the DC Fire & EMS Foundation.
